Week 1 - lots of trial and error

My first few weeks trial and curl "progress".  Day 1 vs. Day 7.   Day 1 (Wednesday) : Conditioned in shower with H2O Sea Mineral conditioner, plopped, added Curls Creme Brule with praying hands, scrunched  Day 2 (Thursday) : tried "final" shampoo (but probably not right shampoo because it was sulfate-free), plopped, scrunched - don't remember if I tried gel?  I had ordered some products from Target to try.  Felt hair looked HORRIBLE, flat, lifeless.  I think I also tried to diffuse with a cool setting. Day 3 (Friday) : conditioned upside down, applied gel (Herbal Essences) in shower, plopped for about 10 minutes.  Scrunched to encourage curl and then again diffused on a cool setting until partially dry. Day 4 (Saturday) : WINDY and COLD AS HECK DAY - was outside all morning at my daughters track meet.  Washed again, in an attempt at a final wash using a shampoo w/ sulfates to try to rid of any residual silicone in my hair.  Then c...

Ahhh - where to start

Last week an ad popped up on my Facebook feed for some product aimed to enhance curly hair. I looked at it and watched a related video and my curiosity was peeked. I've always been a curly girl. However, at some point around age 5 or so, my curls became sleek baby blond hair.  Then, in 3rd grade, tempted by the idea of a perm I got one from my girl scout troop leader . . . ever since then my curls returned. BUT - I never knew how to take care of them, what products to use, and so I experimented with all sorts of things with my hair.  Short hair cuts, longer hair, straightened, curled, wash and go, etc.  Of recent I've been flat-iron curling my longer hair and after a recent haircut felt like my hair was limp and lifeless, and my curls were not bouncing back when I didn't style and let it air dry.  Time for a change. So, here I go; why not embrace my natural hair tendencies and make my hair healthier in the process..  Trial and error with the Curly...
